The Web has become a valuable tool both for students and parents during the college selection process. We have created this page to help guide parents through the admissions and enrollment process at SIUE. Getting Started Checklist — a guide to help your college bound student start the admissions process at SIUE.

• Students should take the ACT or SAT as early as possible and have scores sent to SIUE (ACT code is 1147; SAT code is 1759).

During your student’s senior year of high school, the following should be completed:

• Visit the campus during the annual PREVIEW SIUE Open House in October or November.
• Complete the application for admission.
• Have their academic transcripts sent to the SIUE Office of Admission.
• Apply for admission by December 1 to ensure scholarship consideration.
• Apply for financial aid as soon as possible after January 1. Priority deadline is March 1.
• Send in their housing application and $300 deposit as early as possible. Preferred deadline is May 1.
• Take Placement Test (if needed).
• Attend Springboard to Success.
• Attend New Freshman Welcome and Convocation the Saturday before classes begin.

Springboard to Success

Springboard to Success is a mandatory pre-entry advisement program for all incoming freshmen that will jump-start your student’s university experience and help make a smooth transition to SIUE. For more information regarding the program and to sign up for a date click here.

Schedule a Campus Visit

For a closer look at SIUE, we strongly encourage you and your college-bound student to visit campus. During the school year, tours are available Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. You can schedule a tour online or call the Admissions Office at
