Area and Climate
SIUE is located in southwestern Illinois in the town of Edwardsville, which has a population of about 21,500. Because SIUE's 2,660-acre (1,077 hectare) campus is just a ½-hour drive from St. Louis, Missouri, students can experience the benefits of a culturally diverse, major American city while living and studying in a friendly, small-town university community.

SIUE students experience four distinct seasons, with winter temperatures averaging 32ºF (0ºC) and summer temperatures averaging 80ºF (27ºC).
