<body>    &lt;h2&gt;Academic Programs&lt;/h2&gt;    &lt;h3&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) at SIUE&lt;/h3&gt;    &lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The entry level professional pharmacy degree offered    at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) School    of Pharmacy is the Doctor of Pharmacy or also known as the    Pharm.D.&amp;nbsp;In order to begin this program, students must    complete at least two years of pre-pharmacy curriculum.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;The professional program is four years in length and    consists of three years of study on the attractive, wooded    campus of SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois and one full year of    experiential education throughout the region.&amp;nbsp;Students    also participate in various experiential education learning    opportunities embedded in dedicated times during 18-week    academic semesters during the didactic years of the    program.&amp;nbsp;The fourth year of the program is devoted to    experiential education within a calendar year in various health    care practice settings throughout the region.&amp;nbsp;See details    on the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;The program currently has candidate status from the    Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.    (ACPE).&amp;nbsp;Graduates are eligible to sit for licensure as a    registered pharmacist.&amp;nbsp;See accreditation information    here.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;The goal of the program at SIUE is to prepare pharmacists    who can serve the health care needs of the citizens of Illinois    and its surrounding region. The School provides a contemporary    and innovative Pharmacy education utilizing state-of-the-art    technology.&amp;nbsp;The curriculum provides for inter-professional    education, integrated and team-based learning, experiential    education throughout the four years, and preparation for    contemporary roles including health promotion, prevention and    wellness.&amp;nbsp;There is the opportunity to pursue a    concentration of study for some of the didactic electives and    for an advanced practice experiential elective.&amp;nbsp;The    hallmark of the program at SIUE is the focus on    &amp;ldquo;Excellence&amp;rdquo; as highly qualified students and    competent and dedicated faculty are attributes of our    program.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The culture of SIUE is one of a community    of learners, teachers and scholars. The School also prepares    students for cultural competency and openness to diversity.    This outcome is accomplished through the didactic curriculum    and the experiential education. Numerous didactic and    experiential education electives are also offered.    &amp;nbsp;Students develop citizenship and leadership skills    including through the required service learning experiences and    their professionalism involvement as part of the co-curricular    organizational opportunities.&lt;/p&gt;  </body>
