<h2>About ASCP</h2>
<p>The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) is an organization whose vision is optimal medication management and improved health outcomes for all older persons. Their mission is to empower pharmacists to enhance quality of care for all older persons through the appropriate use of medication and the promotion of healthy aging<sup>1</sup>. Consultant Pharmacists, or Senior Care Pharmacists, have specialized knowledge in geriatrics, geriatric pharmacotherapy, and the unique medication-related needs of the senior population.</p>
<p>The SIUE chapter of ASCP was officially recognized by the university in the spring of 2010. This organization is determined to provide students with the opportunity to promote interaction, education, and job awareness of the growing field of Consultant Pharmacy among SIUE pharmacy students and prospective pharmacy students.</p>
