<body>&lt;h2 align="left"&gt;The Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.)&lt;/h2&gt;&#13;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10.0pt"&gt;The SIUE School of Pharmacy offers the Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, also known as the Pharm.D.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;In order to begin this program, students must complete at least two years of pre-pharmacy curriculum as outlined in the &lt;a href="/id0904f67a8020f485"&gt;pre-pharmacy curriculum&lt;/a&gt;. The professional program at SIUE is four years in length. It includes three years of study on the Edwardsville, Illinois campus and one full year of experiential education at a clinical site in the region.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The SIUE School of Pharmacy was granted full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in June 2009. ACPE authorized the following statement:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10.0pt"&gt;The SIUE School of Pharmacy prepares pharmacists who can serve the health care needs of the citizens of Illinois and its surrounding region.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;The School provides a contemporary and innovative Pharmacy education utilizing state-of-the-art technology and new modern classrooms. The curriculum provides for interprofessional education, integrated and team-based learning, experiential education throughout the four years, and preparation for contemporary roles including health promotion, prevention and wellness.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;There is the opportunity to pursue a concentration of study for some of the didactic electives and for an advanced practice experiential elective.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;The hallmark of the program at SIUE is the focus on &amp;ldquo;Excellence.&amp;rdquo; Highly qualified students and competent and dedicated faculty are attributes of our program.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;The culture of SIUE is one of a community of learners, teachers and scholars.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10.0pt"&gt;The combination of scientific and technical emphasis of our program ensures that our graduates are prepared for highly-competitive pharmacy careers. Students complete a Senior Assignment that serves as an integrative capstone learning experience.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;The SIUE Senior Assignment has been recognized by the &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/news/bestCollege.shtml"&gt;US News and World Report&lt;/a&gt; for its excellence. The School also prepares students for cultural competency and openness to diversity.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;This outcome is accomplished through the didactic curriculum and the experiential education.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;Numerous didactic and experiential education electives are also offered. Students develop citizenship and leadership skills as part of the co-curricular organizational opportunities.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
