<h2><span class="larger">Epsilon Eta Chapter</span></h2>

<p>The Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International was chartered in 1980 at SIUE. It is open to nursing students who meet established academic and professional criteria both at graduate and undergraduate levels and to community nursing leaders. The society is concerned with the advancement of professional nursing through scholarship, research and practices.<br /><br />Undergraduate students must have a GPA of 3.0 and shall have completed Semester 6. Undergraduates must be in the top 35 % of their class. Graduate students must have a GPA of 3.5 and completed a minimum of one quarter of the required graduate curriculum. Nurse anesthesia students need to complete 30 hours of coursework. A nurse leader must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field, and have demonstrated achievement in nursing. Undergraduates and graduate students who meet the criteria are mailed letters of invitation by the Eligibility chairperson of Sigma Theta Tau International in January each year.</p>

<p><strong>Sigma Theta Tau International Epsilon Eta Chapter Receives Chapter Key Award as 6th Time Recipient</strong></p>
<p>The chapter was honored at the STTI 41st Biennial Convention in Grapevine, TX, October 29 - November 2, 2011.</p>
<p><strong>Water for a Well Project: </strong> Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, Nu Chi and Pi Pi chapters, and Trinity Life Centre Church join forces to supply fresh water to Bambeni Settlement in Limpopo Province (formerly Northern Province), South Africa<a href="/nursing/organizations/stt/pdf/water_for_a_well_project_091109.pdf">...more</a></p>
<p><strong>Collection Drive:</strong> Epsilon Eta is again saving lids from Yoplait yogurt. The lids that are gold in color and have “pound for pound” printed on them are worth 10 cents each for <a href="http://feedingamerica.org/">"Feeding America,"</a> the largest domestic hunger relief agency (formerly known as America's Second Harvest). SNA has placed a container in the student nurses' lounge for students to place clean and dry lids.</p>
