&lt;p&gt;Thank you for your interest in the Accelerated Option Program with the SIUE School of Nursing.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;You must apply for admission to the University &lt;strong&gt;AND&lt;/strong&gt; to the School of Nursing.&amp;nbsp; The nursing application and reference forms will be available starting October 1, 2012 for Fall 2013 admission.&amp;nbsp; Application reviews for the Fall 2013 option will begin in January 2013, and qualified applicants will be accepted until the program is full.&amp;nbsp; The application deadline is April 1, 2013, but the program will most likely be full before this date.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;h3&gt;Clinical Option in Springfield&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Starting with the Fall 2012 ABS cohort, a limited number of students will have the opportunity to attend their clinical rotations at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.&amp;nbsp; Students will attend the first semester of the Accelerated Option on the Edwardsville campus.&amp;nbsp; After the first semester, students will attend classes at the SIUE Springfield campus taught by SIUE nursing faculty via tele-education.&amp;nbsp; Clinical experiences will be scheduled at Memorial Medical Center and selected community facilities.&amp;nbsp; If you are interested in participating at the Springfield site, please mark the Springfield box on the nursing application.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;h3&gt;**NEW APPLICATION PROCESS FOR FALL 2012**&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The Accelerated Option will be using a &lt;strong&gt;SELF MANAGED APPLICATION PROCESS&lt;/strong&gt;.&amp;nbsp; This means that the applicant is responsible for collecting and submitting &lt;strong&gt;ALL&lt;/strong&gt; required application materials together in one packet (this includes completed reference forms).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;All application materials &lt;strong&gt;MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE YOUR APPLICATION CAN BE PROCESSED&lt;/strong&gt;.&amp;nbsp; When complete (including university admission), your application will be stamped with a &amp;ldquo;completion date,&amp;rdquo; and applicants will be reviewed in &amp;ldquo;completion date&amp;rdquo; order for the rolling admission process.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The ABS application and reference forms will be available on October 1 on the website, from the School of Nursing in Alumni Hall, Room 2117, or by calling (618) 650-3956.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Please submit the following items &lt;strong&gt;(in one packet)&lt;/strong&gt; to:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;ol&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;School of Nursing ABS application&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; (Note:&amp;nbsp; If you are interested in doing the clinical rotations&amp;nbsp; in Springfield, then please check the Springfield box at the top of the nursing application.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Two letters of reference&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; (use School of Nursing reference forms) - must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the provider&amp;rsquo;s signature across the back of the envelope).&amp;nbsp; These should be submitted by persons in educational, administrative, or collegial capacities who have worked closely with you in the past 5 years.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Course descriptions/syllabi&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; must submit the catalog course description and class syllabus for the following prerequisite courses if completed or currently enrolled in them at a college other than SIUE:&amp;nbsp; Chemistry, Anatomy/Physiology, Microbiology, and Life Span Growth &amp;amp; Development.&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Prerequisite/Degree Completion Form&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; list the semester and school where you will be registering to complete any remaining prerequisitecourses or completing your bachelor&amp;rsquo;s degree.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Note:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; You can apply to the program without having the prerequisites completed.&amp;nbsp; However, they must be completed prior to the beginning of Fall 2012.&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
&lt;/ol&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;h3&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
&lt;h3&gt;&lt;strong&gt;University Admission Process&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Being officially admitted to the university is also part of the ABS application process and application completion date.&amp;nbsp; Submit the university application on-line at www.siue.edu/apply.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Forward official transcripts from ALL colleges attended to:&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
