<h2><br />SIUE Winter Faculty Symposium Slated For Jan. 24</h2>
<p><br />(EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.) Various Southern Illinois University Edwardsville faculty members will be featured speakers during the University’s Winter Faculty Symposium, Jan. 24, with its theme of “Changing Faculty Roles in the Coming Decades.” The day-long event is sponsored by the Faculty Development Council of the SIUE Faculty Senate.</p>
<p>Scott Belobrajdic, assistant vice chancellor for Enrollment Management; Charles Berger, professor of English Language and Literature; and Venessa Brown, assistant provost for Faculty Development and Diversity, will present “Changing Faculty and Student Roles: Enrollment management” at 9 a.m.</p>
<p>Jennifer Vandever, director of Academic Computing, and Kathy Behm, emeritus associate professor of Library and Information Services, will present “Impact of Technology on Faculty Roles” at 10:30 a.m.</p>
<p>The symposium also will include a presentation, “Teacher Scholar Model,” by Mike Shaw, associate professor of chemistry, and Steve Hansen, associate provost for Research and dean of the SIUE Graduate School, at 2:15 p.m.</p>
<p>The day-long symposium, which also includes presentation of the Excellence in Undergraduate Education Impact Awards, takes place in the Hickory-Hackberry Room, on the second floor of SIUE’s Morris University Center. All faculty members are invited to attend the event.</p>
