Login trouble?

Login procedures vary for different library services or terminals.  The sections below explain which ID number or username you need to enter in certain situations.

When to login with your e-ID

To login to the ILLiad interlibrary loan system, to access the online journal databases from off-campus, or to login to any of the computers in the Library, type your e-ID username and password.  An e-ID is the part of your university e-mail address that precedes @siue.edu.  For example, in the e-mail address abc123@siue.edu, the e-ID would be abc123.

When to login with your Cougar ID

To obtain I-Share library services (requesting books through the Library's online catalog or to access electronic Course Reserve documents from off-campus), when prompted for an ID number, type the prefix 21811 followed immediately by your Cougar ID number. Leave no space between the prefix and your ID number.

This entire number is your Library ID number and is printed at the bottom of your Cougar Card.  The number will look like: 21811 800xxxxxx  2 is the code for a patron.  1811 is Lovejoy Library's identification number in I-Share, the state-wide system).  Your 9 digit ID number follows this prefix.
