The Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics provides two web sites which include compendia of statistics on children and family and links to additional sites on the Internet. Also included are reports on children and family issues.
Global Education Database Online (USAID)
This database contains information from both UNESCO Institute of Statistics and USAID's Demographic & Health Surveys. The UNESCO data covers 1970 to the present for over 200 countries using three levels of education, educational outcomes, population and life expectancy. The USAID data covers 1984 to the present for 60 developing countries using attendance, gender equity, and educational attainment. Data can be combined and downloaded into html, Excel, or Word formats.
National Center for Education Statistics
The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) collects, analyzes, and reports statistics on the condition of education in the United States. The site includes the Encyclopedia of Education as well as major publications such as: Condition of Education; Digest of Education Statistics; Education Indicators: An International Perspective; Projections of Education Statistics; and Youth Indicators.
