<br /> <h2>SIUE ORAL HISTORY INTERVIEWS 1.0</h2> <br /><br />Dr. David Werner, then provost of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, is responsible for initiating the scholarly activity that resulted in gathering the historical information contained in the typescripts reproduced here.&nbsp; Provost Werner entrusted this task to Professor Stanley B. Kimball of the Historical Studies faculty, himself a veteran of the university's formative years under the direction of Executive Vice President Harold W.
