Women's History Month Exhibition

Womens History Month Exhibition

Women's history has been celebrated in the United States during March for more than two decades, and Lovejoy Library is again joining in commemorating women's achievements.

The Library's exhibit cases chronicle the contributions of women such as Sacagawea on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Title IX opened opportunities in sport, and Mia Hamm excelled in soccer. Women served as nurses in World War II, both in fact and in fiction. On the home-front, Rosie the Riveter worked in the war industry. Rosie's mother worked during World War I, and her contributions are remembered. Further, St.Louisian Mary Taussig Hall has been active in social work since the New Deal of the 1930s and 1940s.
