<body>One way donors can make an direct impact on the students at SIUE is by funding a scholarship or an award or giving to an existing scholarship or award.&lt;p&gt;Scholarships may provide financial assistance up to the total educational costs for attending SIUE.&amp;nbsp; There are several items to take into consideration when establishing a scholarship.&amp;nbsp; For example, the scholarship may be endowed or non-endowed, or may be awarded on the basis of merit or financial need.&amp;nbsp; Criteria such as a particular course of study, or graduation from a certain high school may also be considered.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Donors may also choose to help support the Premier Scholarship Programs at SIUE, the Chancellor's Scholarship Program and the Presidential Scholarship Program.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Awards are given to students to recognize academic achievement or outstanding ability in the arts, academics, leadership or athletics.&amp;nbsp; Like scholarships, awards may be endowed or non-endowed and may specify the criteria the recipient must meet to receive the award.&amp;nbsp; Many student awards are given at an honors ceremony that recognizes the accomplishments of SIUE students.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</body>
