One way donors can make an direct impact on the students at SIUE is by funding a scholarship or an award or giving to an existing scholarship or award.<p>Scholarships may provide financial assistance up to the total educational costs for attending SIUE. There are several items to take into consideration when establishing a scholarship. For example, the scholarship may be endowed or non-endowed, or may be awarded on the basis of merit or financial need. Criteria such as a particular course of study, or graduation from a certain high school may also be considered.</p><p>Donors may also choose to help support the Premier Scholarship Programs at SIUE, the Chancellor's Scholarship Program and the Presidential Scholarship Program.</p><p>Awards are given to students to recognize academic achievement or outstanding ability in the arts, academics, leadership or athletics. Like scholarships, awards may be endowed or non-endowed and may specify the criteria the recipient must meet to receive the award. Many student awards are given at an honors ceremony that recognizes the accomplishments of SIUE students.</p><p></p>
