Note from the Director

April, 2008

Hello All,

I hope this message finds each and every one of you doing well.

Here is a weekly glimpse of what April 2008 had in store:

  • April 1 - 4: Week was highlighted by NCERC hosting a Cabinet Member of the European Union. The visit was arranged by the World Affairs Council and included discussions about DDGS quality and latest technologies being employed by the Dry Grind ethanol industry.
  • April 7 - 11: NCERC spent the week entertaining potential clients “in-house” as well as getting on the road for a couple of days for follow-up visits with past NCERC clients. On Friday April 11 the NCERC hosted faculty and students from University of Illinois College of ACES.
  • April 14 – 19: Another week highlighted by NCERC hosting potential clients. Thursday April 17 and Friday April 18 the NCERC participated in Agriculture Industry Advisory meetings on the campus of SIUC – College of Agricultural Sciences. Saturday April 19 NCERC welcomed more than 80 visitors as part of the SIUE 50 th Anniversary celebration.
  • April 21 - 25: Along with Ethanol Technology, NCERC hosted and participated in the “Ethanol Technology Institute – Operators School”. This unique three day training seminar saw representatives from more than 50 ethanol plants from across North America.

May 2008: The wet weather continues in Southern Illinois, although as I am writing this letter my neighbor is drilling soybeans behind my house. Once again NCERC has a number of prospect client meetings during the month of May and looks forward to some follow-up time with a number of old friends.

Until next time, have a good, productive and safe month.

Regards,

John Caupert
