I hope this message finds each and every one of you doing well.
Here is a weekly glimpse of what June 2009 had in store:
February 1 – 5: A week highlighted by meetings and conference calls with clients and collaborators. Monday February 1, John Caupert (Director) and Stephanie Regagnon (Director of Commercialization) conducted a conference call with staff of the U.S. Grains Council. Purpose of the call was to inform and update the U.S. Grains Council on current DDGS and Corn Co-Product projects. The remainder of the week was concentrated on calls and face to face meetings with pilot plant clients and training collaborators.
February 8 – 12: Monday February 8, Terry Lash and Steve Ward (NCERC Research Engineers) traveled to CABER at University of Illinois to participate in a seminar series on bioenergy. Our thanks to Hans Blaschek for making these seminars open to the public. Corn Co-Products Projects took center stage the remainder of the week as John Caupert (Director) and Steph Regagnon (Director of Commercialization) traveled to Macomb, IL to hold meetings with Illinois Corn Growers Association and Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs to discuss project status and expansion of on-going projects related to Corn Co-Products.
February 15 - 19: John Caupert (Director), Frank Romano (Director of Operations) and Steph Regagnon (Director of Commercialization) traveled to Orlando, FL to attend and participate in the National Ethanol Conference (NEC). The NEC, hosted and conducted by the Renewable Fuels Association, is the premiere ethanol marketing and policy conference. Bob Dinneen and his staff assemble an exemplary conference that highlights the most accurate status and activities of this nation’s renewable fuels industry.
February 22 - 26: Three words to describe the week………..busy, busy, busy! The NCERC conducted an industry pilot plant client trial while simultaneously holding workforce training for a team of 24 process operators and five analytical technicians. The entire NCERC contributed in myriad of roles during the 24 hour per day operations and training. I extend my sincere gratitude for each member of the NCERC team for their unselfish and tireless effort.
