Getting
to know TechREADY! |

CORE TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS |
You need to know how to
use technology to help your students learn, as well as how to use technology
to be a more productive professional. Use the Tech Skills Survey to find
out where you need to focus your efforts. Then, use techREADY to improve
your knowledge and skills in the areas where the survey indicates you
need to learn. You can proceed at your own pace as you access the information
and learning activities that are available for each standard. |
3 THINGS TO GET YOU STARTED! |
The information and examples in techREADY are organized according to the three most important topics you need to learn about for each standard. To supplement your learning, examples of best practice, additional information about technology standards, and resources for creating your own learning technologies are available. |

MINI PROJECTS |
TechREADY includes
a number of Mini Projects that give you ideas for creating teaching ideas
and other materials that you might include in your teaching portfolio. |

ENGAGE |
Everyone in a teacher education program (including your professors) is part of techREADY, regardless of program area, field assignment, or year. There are many opportunities for discussions that relate to the specific standard areas, and techREADY is also a great environment to learn about new teaching approaches by reading theory and practice articles. |
TechREADY has been developed with funds made available through the U. S. Department of Education’s Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use Technology grant program. The system was designed and developed by Tarantula Learning Company in collaboration with SIUE faculty and staff. |
