Getting to know TeachREADY!
TeachREADY is designed to help you meet and exceed the Core Teaching Standards that are part of the Illinois Assessment of Professional Teaching. For each of the eleven standards, TeachREADY provides learning resources that you can supplement with mini-project activities, discussions, video examples of best practices, and online tools.

  CORE TEACHING STANDARDS
The Core Teaching Standards reflect the learning goals and academic standards that are established for Illinois students. Meeting the standards enables teachers to support the intellectual, social, emotional, ethical, and physical development of students.

3 THINGS TO GET YOU STARTED
The information and examples in TeachREADY are organized according to the three most important topics you need to learn about for each standard.

MINI PROJECTS 
TeachREADY includes a number of Mini Projects that give you ideas for creating teaching plans and other materials that you might include in your teaching portfolio.
ENGAGE
Everyone in a teacher education program (including your professors) is part of teachREADY, regardless of program area, field assignment, or year. There are many opportunities for discussions that relate to the specific standard areas, and teachREADY is also a great environment to learn about new teaching approaches.

TeachREADY has been developed with funds made available through the U. S. Department of Education’s Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use Technology grant program. The system was designed and developed by Tarantula Learning Company in collaboration with SIUE faculty and staff.
