What's New!
It's the summer!!!

But summertime doesn't mean we're on vacation. You can still access all of the information, tools and discussions in ReadREADY. Take your time and learn what you can.

We'll be archiving the discussion boards sometime this summer, in preparation for new discussions in the fall. Maybe there are some topics you'd like to discuss. Let us know!

Contact Jo (jwottow@siue.edu) if you have questions or need help with ReadREADY.

Getting to know ReadREADY!
ReadREADY is designed to help you meet and exceed the Core Language Arts Standards that are part of the Illinois Assessment of Professional Teaching. For each of the three standards, ReadREADY provides learning resources that you can supplement with mini-project activities, online discussions, video examples of best practices, and online tools. ReadREADY is also the place for you to develop and share your online teaching portfolio.

3 THINGS TO GET YOU STARTED!
The information and examples in ReadREADY are organized according to the three most important topics you need to learn about for each standard.

PORTFOLIO RESOURCES & MINI PROJECTS
ReadREADY contains an online web page editing tool that enables you to create your own teaching portfolio website. Once you’ve created your portfolio, you can selectively show your work-in-progress to other teacher candidates, faculty members, and potential employers. When you have completed your education at SIUE, you can download your portfolio and take it with you. ReadREADY includes a number of Mini Projects that give you ideas for creating artifacts for your online portfolio.
ENGAGE & DISCUSS
Everyone in a teacher education program (including your professors) is part of ReadREADY, regardless of program area, field assignment, or year. There are many opportunities for online discussions that relate to the specific standard areas, and ReadREADY is also a great environment to test new teaching approaches or exchange practical information. Join in these discussions and share your teaching and learning experiences, or post your own questions to receive a variety of options and helpful hints from the learning community.

ReadREADY has been developed with funds made available through the U. S. Department of Education’s Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use Technology grant program. The system was designed and developed by Tarantula Learning Company in collaboration with SIUE faculty and staff. The online web page editor has been customized to ReadREADY specifications, and is licensed from WebsiteASP.
