With limited resources, the School of Education has achieved tremendous success in educating growing numbers of students, attracting high-caliber faculty, obtaining increased research funding and developing responsive programs to meet the emerging educational needs of the region.• Over 26 percent of the degrees conferred by the University in 2008 were awarded to graduate and undergraduate students in the School of Education.
• Nearly 750 degrees were awarded to students in the School of Education in 2008.
• The School’s faculty members have been recognized for their success in securing grants from agencies such as the Illinois Department of Public Health, National Endowment for the Humanities, Illinois Humanities Council and the Library of Congress.
• Each semester, approximately 500 teacher education students train in public school classrooms. The School of Education maintains partnerships with more than 50 districts and more than 160 schools.
