Course Objectives

+  To gain knowledge and understanding of the fundamental components of project management.

+  To learn “best practices” for each of these components.

+  To participate in a semester-long class project that will produce *something* directly related to project management issues and practices.

+  To apply what we learn about project management and associated best practices to the conduct of our class project.

+  To develop basic skills in working with a project management software tool (Microsoft Project).

Grading

The possible points in the course total 440.  The following areas of assessment will determine the total points you earn in the class:

Individual “story” project (due Oct 8th) - 50
Class project – Team performance - 80
Class project – Individual performance (includes peer evaluation) - 40
