&lt;p&gt;The affairs of the SIUE Alumni Association are managed by the Board of Directors.&amp;nbsp; The board's specific duties include adopting an annual budget, investing general Association funds and regularly publishing alumni news through the eConnection.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The board is composed of 23 Directors selected as Constituent Directors, At-Large Directors and Foundation Representative.&amp;nbsp; Board members serve for a minimum of three years and a maximum of six years.&amp;nbsp; The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors is comprised of the President, the President-elect, the Vice-President, the Vice-President of Finance and the Immediate Past-President, with the Secretary serving ex-officio and without vote.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The board, which strives to represent SIUE's diverse alumni population, holds four annual meetings which are typically scheduled on the first Thursday evening of the month.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;h3&gt;&lt;a name="expect"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/a&gt;Board Expectations&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
As a requirement to serve on the Board of Directors, each member agrees to:&lt;br /&gt;- Be an active paid member of the SIUE Alumni Association&lt;br /&gt;- Attend at least two of the four board meetings per year&lt;br /&gt;- Participate in at least one committee&lt;br /&gt;- Participate in at least two events sponsored by the Association and/or University in a calendar year&lt;br /&gt;- Know and embrace the SIUE Alumni Association's mission, goals, policies, programs, services, strengths and needs and work to increase the visibility and vitality of the Association.&lt;br /&gt;- Serve as an official ambassador for SIUE and the Alumni Association&lt;br /&gt;- Assist in the solicitation of Association memberships, funds and engagement of alumni volunteers&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&#13;
&lt;h3&gt;&lt;a name="board"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/a&gt;Interested in Joining the Board of Directors?&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
The Alumni Association Board of Directors has seven open positions, starting in June 2012.&amp;nbsp; However, we continually accept applications for future openings.&amp;nbsp; Serving as a member of the board can provide an opportunity to give back to SIUE alumni, students, faculty and staff in a very meaningful way.&amp;nbsp; If you have a sense of pride in the value of the education you received at SIUE, you are the perfect candidate for the Board.&amp;nbsp; Your support represents an investment in the value of your degree, by helping SIUE maintain its excellence and educate tomorrow's leaders.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&#13;

There are six standing committees managed by the Board of Directors:&lt;br /&gt;- &lt;strong&gt;Programming&lt;/strong&gt; - Chaired by Christine Jackson&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;- &lt;strong&gt;Awards&lt;/strong&gt; - Chaired by Stephanie Renken&lt;br /&gt;- &lt;strong&gt;Membership and Marketing&lt;/strong&gt; - Chaired by SJ Morrison&lt;br /&gt;- &lt;strong&gt;Finance Committee&lt;/strong&gt; - Chaired by Dr. Barry Delassus&lt;br /&gt;- &lt;strong&gt;Bylaws Committee&lt;/strong&gt; - Chaired by Veronica Armouti&lt;br /&gt;- &lt;strong&gt;Strategic Planning Committee&lt;/strong&gt; - Chaired by the Board of Directors Executive Committee&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&#13;
&lt;h3&gt;&lt;a name="committee"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/a&gt;Interested in Participating on a Committee?&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
Current members of the SIUE Alumni Association are eligible to serve as non-voting members of the Membership &amp;amp; Marketing and Programming committees.&amp;nbsp; The Marketing &amp;amp; Membership committee oversees marketing strategies and opportunities to increase membership in the Alumni Association. The committee reviews strategic decisions regarding publicity opportunities, marketing campaigns, new membership benefit opportunities and membership drive initiatives.&amp;nbsp; The Programming Committee oversees activities for the Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Affairs.
